Privacy

Accommodia is an atlas of hotels. There are no accounts, no newsletter and no forms, so we never ask for your name or email address. This page says what little does happen to your data, and who to ask about it.

Who runs Accommodia

Accommodia is run by Boris Lucic, who is responsible for the data described here. Write to me@borislucic.com about anything on this page.

Analytics, only if you allow it

If you choose Allow in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to count visits: which pages and places are looked at, which links to Expedia are followed, roughly where visitors are (country and city), and which kind of device and browser they use. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.

It sets two cookies, _ga and one beginning _ga_, to tell visits apart. They last at most 13 months. The data is processed for us by Google Ireland Limited and may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Google keeps it for 14 months, then deletes it.

The legal basis is your consent. Without it, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. You can change your answer at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; taking it back deletes the cookies.

Your answer, kept in your browser

Your answer to the cookie banner is kept in your browser's own storage. It is never sent to us, and you are asked again after six months.

Links to Expedia

“See prices” opens the hotel on Expedia, or on Hotels.com or Vrbo, through an affiliate link. From then on you are on their site, under their privacy policy and their cookies. They use a cookie to credit a booking to us so that they can pay us a commission; they do not tell us who you are.

Hosting

The site is served by Vercel Inc. To deliver its pages and keep it safe, Vercel briefly processes technical data such as your IP address and browser in its logs, under its data processing agreement with us. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Nothing else

The fonts and the map are served from this site, not from Google or a map service. There are no ads, no social media trackers, and nothing is sold.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of any data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw your consent. In practice we hold nothing that names you, and Google Analytics data cannot be matched to a person. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
